Other Technology available at PhysioFunction includes:

Tidal tank

The Tidal Tank is a dynamic water-filled device used in neurological physiotherapy to improve core stability, balance, and coordination. As the water moves unpredictably within the tank, it creates an unstable load that challenges the body's postural control systems. This makes it ideal for clients with neurological conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, or Brain Injury, helping to retrain the nervous system through enhanced proprioceptive feedback and muscle engagement. It can be used in various exercises to target upper and lower limb control, promoting functional movement, neuromuscular re-education, and improved motor planning and strength in a safe, controlled way.

Blaze pods

BlazePods are interactive, light-based pods that can be used to improve reaction time, coordination, cognitive function, and motor control. The pods light up in response to programmed activities, requiring users to quickly respond by tapping or moving to them. This visual and physical feedback engages both the body and brain, making them especially useful for clients with neurological conditions. BlazePods can be integrated into exercises targeting upper and lower limb rehabilitation, balance, and dual-task training, enhancing neuroplasticity and helping improve functional performance in a fun, engaging way.

Pablo

The PABLO is a sensor-based rehabilitation device which can assess and improve upper limb, hand, and grip function. It offers interactive, game-based training that targets movement control, strength, and coordination through engaging tasks. PABLO can be used with clients who have a neurological condition or injury including Stroke, TBI, SCI, MS and Parkinson’s. Its real-time biofeedback helps track progress and motivate users, while encouraging repetitive, purposeful movement that drives neuroplasticity. With both gross and fine motor function training options, PABLO supports the restoration of functional independence through personalized and measurable therapy.

NuStep

The NuStep is a recumbent cross-trainer used to promote safe, effective cardiovascular and functional exercise. It allows individuals with neurological conditions to engage in low-impact, full-body workouts that support strength, endurance, and coordination. The seated, supportive design reduces fall risk while encouraging symmetrical movement of the upper and lower limbs. Its adjustable resistance levels make it suitable for a range of abilities, enabling gradual progression. The NuStep promotes neuroplasticity, improves circulation, and enhances mobility, making it a great tool for building confidence and independence.

Tilt Table

The tilt-table is particularly beneficial for individuals with limited mobility or those recovering from conditions such as Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, or Brain / Head Injury. It allows clients to be safely brought from a lying to an upright position in a gradual, controlled manner. This vertical positioning helps improve cardiovascular function, postural control, bone density, and tolerance to standing, which are crucial in early rehabilitation. It can also assist with reducing spasticity and enhancing weight-bearing through the lower limbs, supporting neuromuscular re-education and preparing clients for standing or walking-based therapies. Clients can participate in upper limb exercises while on the tilt table, which helps enhance neuromuscular function, postural control, and circulation. These exercises simulate functional tasks, promote cognitive and sensory engagement, and activate core muscles, contributing to overall physical rehabilitation.

Virtual Reality

The Meta Quest 2 VR offers a range of benefits for clients with neurological conditions, including enhanced motor learning through immersive virtual environments, allowing clients to practice movements in a safe and controlled setting. This helps improve neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to reorganise and form new neural connections.

The VR system also encourages task-specific training, where clients can engage in real-life scenarios like walking, balancing, or reaching, tailored to their abilities. This improves postural control, coordination, and muscle strength. Additionally, the interactive nature of VR enhances motivation and engagement, making therapy sessions more fun.

By tracking performance in real-time, our therapists can monitor progress and adjust exercises, to each person’s unique goals, targeting improvements in muscle function, balance and cognitive skills. Ultimately, the Meta Quest 2 VR offers an engaging, effective, and dynamic approach to neurological rehabilitation.

Turtlebrace

The Turtlebrace is an orthotic solution designed to support joint function and promote improved mobility in individuals with neurological and musculoskeletal impairments. It is a breathable, anti-bacterial, re-mouldable support that can be used for serial casting, spasticity control, maintaining joint range of movement and supporting unstable joints.

Its unique properties allow it to be re-moulded over 100 times to adapt to the client's progression. Suitable for adults and children, Neuro and MSK.

Its user-friendly design ensures comfort and promotes compliance, facilitating more effective therapy outcomes.

The product is made from breathable and multi perforated materials with an antibacterial agent that allows for submersion, auto draining and prevention of odours and any skin irritation. This means the Turtlebrace can be used in conjunction with hydrotherapy.
