Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a soft tissue therapy treatment provided by a Sports Therapist, Physiotherapist, Physical Therapist and/or Occupational Therapist to help treat Musculoskeletal (MSK) related injuries. Sports massage treatment can also help people who may suffer with postural abnormalities which may cause joint impingements or reduced mobility of a joint, increased muscular tone, muscle spasticity and cramping.

Treatment offered includes physical soft tissue manipulation/kneading of the muscles/joint on the area where the pain is originating from. The aim is to reduce pain, muscle tone, spasticity and improve individuals’ overall range of movement and posture.

MSK related injuries generally occur when individuals are involved in fitness and sports or due to the choices in their lifestyle. There can also be other factors that can cause someone to need Sports Massage. These can include individuals with neurological conditions such as Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinsons and for someone who is experiencing symptoms such as high tone, spasticity, and joint mobility reduction.

Types of massage offered:

  • Eflourage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
