Hydrotherapy for Stroke - Client’s wife

It was wonderful watching my husband go from being very tense to totally relaxing and gaining in confidence as time in the hydro pool went on. Kirsten and Megan were so very lovely and kind with him - I'm so happy. It was so rewarding to see how the girls worked his body. In the changing room afterwards he was sitting bolt upright like my husband used to be - wonderful!

I recently took my first overseas holiday since I had a stroke. Before travelling it was obvious my left leg was benefitting from strengthening exercises in the pool. I was concerned how I would manage the pool on holiday, and after talking it through with Kirsten she suggested I use an ankle weight to help manage my worry, and she helped me practice pool walking. When I arrived on my holiday, I was able to access the pool via steps with the weight helping to keep my foot down. Using the pool several times a day ensured I fully enjoyed my time there. I cannot thank Kirsten enough for her time with me and would highly recommend it as therapy option. It certainly ensured I fully enjoyed this special time.

My sincere thanks to both Alison and Guy for their tremendous support given to me with regards my ongoing battle with Parkinsons. Diagnosed 17 years ago, I have been accessing Physiofunction for the last 2 years. I am convinced that Alison’s support has helped me and my wife cope with what is a frustrating and mysterious heath condition. We have always found her to be encouraging and positive when treating me and her ongoing treatment has certainly helped in my quest to stay mobile. Guy (University student) provided information and ideas on Parkinsons rehab gained during his time in the States. I cannot thank and praise PhysioFunction enough, especially Taher and Michelle, for everything they have done for me over the past two years. Spinal cord compression had resulted in me losing the use of my legs. I received emergency spinal surgery and subsequent radiotherapy but the prognosis was uncertain with no indication of how much mobility I may recover. I was fortunate to discover the PhysioFunction website and soon assessed by Taher to begin treatment. Both Taher and Michelle have been amazing, inspiring and encouraging every step of the way in my rehab. Their skills have helped put me back on my feet and now slowly and carefully walking with the aid of a stick.
