- What are your opening times?
Our clinic's are open from 9am to 5pm - Monday to Fridays.
- Do I need a Referral?
No, you can contact PhysioFunction directly to book an appointment in the location that best suits you. However, if you have private medical insurance you may need a GP or Consultant referral to make a claim.
- How much will my treatment cost?
Price of treatment can depend on a number of factors including the clinician required and length of session. If the appointment is a home a travel cost will be incurred.
- How soon will I be seen?
Appointments are usually available within five working days. Occasionally, in busy periods, there may be a small waiting time but we will offer you an alternative clinic option.
- Where can I receive treatment?
PhysioFunction offers both clinic-based appointments, hydrotherapy and home visits. We can also visit clients in nursing homes and residential homes as well as at gyms.
- What happens in an initial assessment?
At PhysioFunction we undertake a detailed initial assessment. This is an information gathering process, which will allow the therapist to get to know you and to start to build a treatment plan for you. You will be asked about your past medical history and what medication you are currently taking. This will advise the therapist on any precautions they may need to take. It is therefore helpful to take along an up to date list of your medications.
You will also be asked about your home situation and specific problems you are having within your home environment. The therapist may be able to offer solutions to problems you are having or could put you in touch with other health professionals e.g. an Occupational Therapist (OT), who could help with these problems.
The physiotherapist will assess you, looking at your ability to move ability to move your limbs, your strength, your posture, your sensation and balance. It is sensible for you to come to your assessment in loose fitting comfortable clothing.
Once the physical assessment is complete, the therapist will discuss their findings with you and will make some suggestions on how to progress forward. This is also the time to discuss and agree with you how often you may need to come back for ongoing treatment. It is also the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

- How often should I attend?
It depends on many factors. Your initial appointment will be a comprehensive assessment to establish your individual needs, and recommendations for future treatment will be provided. The length of treatment will depend on your condition, your symptoms and goals.
- What age group to you treat?
PhysioFunction treat from the age of five upwards. For children younger than five please call our Client Services Team on 0800 043 0327.
- What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of neurological conditions which are listed on our conditions page. However if your condition is not listed please contact us our Client Services Team on 0800 043 0327. We will be able to help.
Our physiotherapist are also experienced in treating complex and poly trauma patients.

- I am Five Years Post-Stroke, can Physiotherapy Still Help Me?
Whilst recovery tends to happen more rapidly at first, with the correct input from one of our Neurological Physiotherapists, improvements are possible over a number of years. At your initial assessment, the Physiotherapist will be able to advise you on how much improvement may be possible.
- Can FES help me?
Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) products are available to assist with upper and lower limb issues. Our highly -trained Physiotherapists often use technology alongside hands-on therapy to help with rehabilitation, independence and mobility.
There are clinical reasons that may affect individual suitability, so an assessment with a qualified Neurological Specialist is critical to obtaining an individual recommendation. Please call our Client Services team to discuss your individual case.
- Can you advise on any other therapy?
Following your assessment, the Neurological Physiotherapist will advise you whether you need to seek specialist advice from another Allied Healthcare Professional (AHP). Eg. Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Wheelchair Services / Seating Specialist.
We work closely with many AHPs and in most areas will be able to recommend a suitable clinician

- What is your Cancellation Policy?
PhysioFunction require 24 hours notice of any cancellation. Failing this a cancellation charge will be applied which is the full cost of the booked appointment.
