PhysioFunction and MindMotion™ GO launch a stroke rehabilitation programme for home.

TeleRehab with MindMotion™ GO

PhysioFunction and MindMotion™ GO launch a stroke rehabilitation programme (TeleRehabilitation) that can be undertaken from the comfort of your own home with the support of a Neurological physiotherapist or assistant via a video call.

The programme uses engaging video game activities developed by neuroscientists and designed to promote specific therapeutic movement; helping improve motor function and maximise recovery potential following a stroke.

The MindMotion™ GO is a medical software device that can easily plug into a home TV. The device is able to follow body movement using motion tracking cameras, so handsets are not required when engaging in post stroke exercise activities. On-screen, the wide range of therapeutic games provide motivating environments that encourage movement, strengthen muscles and help improve balance and co-ordination.

All you need is Wifi and a TV to connect to the MindMotion™ GO. Access to an i-pad or laptop will be needed for the physio led therapy sessions via video call.

TeleRehab is highly beneficial for individuals who are currently unable to access physiotherapy due to Covid-19 isolation requirements. It allows people to stay at home, avoiding at risk situations in clinics. This is not only safer, but also ends up being more convenient.

TeleRehabilitation programs also allow individuals to keep on track in their therapy. Being in isolation may reduce the amount of activity most of us complete each day, which can lead to a lack of motivation, reduced exercise tolerance and increased stiffness. Keeping moving is essential to maintain health, prevent muscle tightness, and de-conditioning. Having the support of a physiotherapist will help keep you accountable and motivated to continue your rehabilitation whilst you are confined to your home.

TeleRehabilitation supports recovery after Stroke and can be used in treatment for Multiple Sclerosis & Parkinsons.
