What is it?

Our intensive rehabilitation program has been designed to provide up to 4 hours of daily rehabilitation, available Monday-Friday. Utilising a mix of hands on Physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, wheelchair skills training, exercise, and advanced rehabilitation technology to bombard the nervous system with positive messages and promote recovery.

Why will this help me?

After spinal cord injury or illness, the body is no longer able to complete some activities that it used to be able to do. However, all is not lost as the mechanism of Neuroplasticity can allow the brain, spinal cord and body to reconnect and rewire to find other ways of completing the activities. The key to enhancing Neuroplasticity is high repetition, task specific practice. This is what our intensive rehabilitation program provides. Our expert Occupational Therapists can also assist with finding efficient ways to achieve everyday activities – using new techniques or equipment.

What does it involve?

The entry point to the Intensive Rehabilitation Program is a detailed physical assessment which is either completed face to face or by online (video) consultation (dependent upon locality). This is done with the aim of ‘hitting the ground running’ at the start of your therapy.

During this assessment we will gain as much information from you as possible and build a bespoke and individualised rehabilitation program for you, which will likely involve various rehabilitation technologies as well as hands on treatments and hydrotherapy.

Depending on your needs and budget we can provide suggestions for accommodation for the duration of your intensive rehabilitation programme.
