Motor Neurone Disease

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease affecting the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. The body’s communication system to the muscles therefore gradually stops working – causing muscle weakness and reduced function.

MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order. There is currently no cure for MND, however, Neurological Physiotherapy can help keep you mobile, maintain your quality of life and maximise your independence for as long as possible.
